Amaryllis 'Mont Blanc'
Amaryllis Mont Blanc is an eye-catching perennial that brightens the room during the greyest months of the year. These size 26-28 bulbs produce snow-white trumpet-shaped blooms feature attractive green throats. Although they generally flower from January to March, early bulbs planted in September should be in flower right in time for Christmas.
Amaryllis bulbs are perfect for indoor gardening and grow well in pots. Soak each bulb in lukewarm water before planting in moist but well-draining soil, leaving the top third of the bulb above soil level. Position in a bright spot with limited direct sunlight and water regularly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. After flowering, prune back the flower stalks, leaving the foliage in place to die back naturally. Cut back dead foliage in late autumn, ready for fresh new growth to emerge.
