Camellia 'Mary Williams'

Camellia reticulata ‘Mary Williams’ is an evergreen shrub boasting large, rose-pink flowers that appear from late winter into mid-spring. The blooms are bold, the leaves are glossy, and the plant holds its shape well. It’s not a fast grower, but it earns its keep with reliable structure and colour when most of the garden looks half asleep. Ideal for borders, sheltered spots, or anywhere you want something that looks decent year-round without constant fuss.

This compact Camellia variety prefers partial shade and moist but well-draining soil. Water it during dry spells, especially in summer, and add some mulch in autumn to keep the roots happy. Pruning isn’t essential, but if it starts looking scruffy, tidy the shrub with a light trim after flowering.
