Dianthus Alpine Mix

Dianthus Alpine Mix

Our Dianthus Alpine Mix boasts a vibrant collection of garden ready perennials with a compact growing habit. They make excellent rockery plants, filling the gaps between stones with vibrantly coloured, highly fragrant summer flowers in a rainbow of colours. However, they also grow well in sunny beds and borders and are well-suited to growing in patio pots and containers, making them extremely versatile.

Each plant is supplied in a 9cm growers pot, ready to plant out in the garden. Reaching an ultimate height and spread of 50-100cm, Dianthus Alpines thrive in full sun in light, well-draining soil. Water thoroughly after planting, after which they are relatively drought tolerant and only need to be watered during prolonged dry spells. Be careful not to overwater alpine plants, as they don’t grow well in soggy, water-logged soil. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering and lightly trim wayward stems in autumn.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.
