Dicentra 'Gold Heart'

Dicentra 'Gold Heart'

Boasting eye-catching golden-green foliage, this Gold Heart Lamprocapnos spectabilis cultivar provides plenty of visual interest even when the plant isn’t in bloom. From April to May, the arching red stems bear pendant heart shaped flowers in a sweet shade of pink with pure white inner petals. These blooms are irresistible to pollinators, attracting bees and butterflies into the garden.

These Bleeding Hearts plants reach an eventual height of up to 60cm and spread of up to 90cm. They are undemanding and easy to grow, requiring no pruning and being generally free of pests and diseases - although slugs may like to munch on the foliage. Choose a sheltered spot and plant in moist but well-draining soil. While Gold Heart will tolerate full sun provided the soil is kept consistently moist, it flourishes best in the partial shade of trees and shrubs.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth. This plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
