Dicentra 'White Gold'

Boasting eye-catching golden-green foliage, this White Gold Lamprocapnos spectabilis cultivar provides plenty of visual interest even when the plant isn’t in bloom. From April to May, tall stems bear small white heart-shaped flowers with inner petals drooping like a teardrop. These blooms are irresistible to pollinators, attracting bees and butterflies into the garden.

These Bleeding Hearts plants reach an eventual height and spread of up to 90cm. They are undemanding and easy to grow, requiring no pruning and being generally free of pests and diseases - although slugs may like to munch on the foliage. Choose a sheltered spot and plant in moist but well-draining soil. While White Gold will tolerate full sun provided the soil is kept consistently moist, it flourishes best in the partial shade of trees and shrubs.
