Eryngium 'Magical Anita'
A very recognisable and distinctive variety, the Eryngium ‘Magical Anita’, more commonly known as the Blue Thistle, is a lovely and resilient herbaceous perennial shrub with long, sharp mid-green leaves beneath stiff stems which carry rounded, spiked violet-blue flowers which are surrounded by leaves which cup the blooms from beneath to create interesting displays. The blooms are long lasting, appearing from early to mid-Summer and last right through to the Autumn months. A great choice for rocky or dry garden beds.
Plant in moderately moist, well-drained, fertile soil and keep in full or partial sun. Grows in most soils but prefers lime soils. Drought tolerant once established, but susceptible to waterlogged areas.
