Garlic 'Edenrose'

Garlic 'Edenrose'

Also known as French Garlic, Edenrose is a hard neck variety producing a healthy summer harvest. This cultivar boasts papery white outer skin with light, soft pink garlic cloves inside. These cloves have a delicate, sweet flavour and are ideal for flavouring many culinary dishes.

Choose a sunny spot in well-drained, fertile soil and plant the bulbs around 3cm deep, leaving 10cm between plants. Edenrose is a hardy garlic variety and copes well with frosty temperatures. It can be planted in autumn or early spring and is suitable for growing in pots and containers. Garlic is a great crop for deterring common garden pests, helping other plants in the vegetable garden to thrive.

When the leaves die down in mid-summer, gently pull out the garlic bulbs and leave them on a flat surface to ripen and dry out. Use the cloves fresh or store the bulbs in a light, dry, airy place, where they’ll keep until mid-winter.
