Liriope 'Moneymaker'
“Moneymaker” Big Blue is a low-lying, perennial evergreen with strap or grass-shaped leaves. The dark-green leaves spread out in abundance from a central clump, which can be divided in the spring time for further propagation.
Later, towards the end of summer and through autumn, form small, rounded pearl-like buds on central stalks. The flowers are coloured a rich, vibrant purple and the stalks are often coloured deeper reds, with almost pink notes.
Suggestions for the various uses of this plant; it is recommended for groundcover and as an edging plant. These varieties prefer shade to partially-shaded areas. As such, they do well in informal garden settings and accents in decorative flower beds where later blooming plants are desired.
Ability to grow in almost any soil type, but sandy soils are preferred because of the better drainage. This variety is beautiful and relatively easy to maintain. Avoid clipping or cutting new growth and may only need an occasionally raking through the bed to clear out dead foliage.
