Nasturtium 'Whirlybird Mix' Bedding Plants

Nasturtium 'Whirlybird Mix' Bedding Plants

These Whirlybird Mixed Nasturtium plants produce a low growing mound of foliage that is almost completely covered with colourful semi-double flowers in shades of yellow, red, and orange. Flowering from June to September, these lightly fragranced flowers have a delicately sweet scent. Both the leaves and flowers are edible, adding colour and a peppery flavour to salads.

These compact plants are easy to grow, preferring a sheltered spot in full sun in well-draining soil. Water well after planting and during dry spells to keep the soil evenly moist but not overly wet. Poor soil is ideal and promotes flower production, while more fertile soils encourage leafy growth at the expense of blooms.

Also known as Indian Cress or by the botanical name Tropaeolum, Nasturtium plants are hugely popular with bees and butterflies, attracting plenty of pollinators into the garden.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
