Picea Abies, commonly known as Norway Spruce, are a variety of outdoor trees which can be recognised all over the world as one of the most popular choices of Christmas tree. However, these trees are perfect for growing as hedging plants too. Deep green, evergreen foliage grows densely and remains all year, accompanied by relatively large cones hanging delicately from the branches.

These trees grow in a conical shape, and the dense foliage is perfect for creating a windbreak in the garden. They are relatively easy to grow in full sun to partial shade and in slightly acidic soil. They are hardy and can survive very cold winters, and once established they won’t even require regular watering.
