Osmunda regalis

Osmunda regalis

Osmunda Regalis, also commonly known as the Royal Fern, is a deciduous, outdoor fern plant. Feathery, green fronds unfurl in spring and form a large clump, before turning to shades of fiery red and rustic bronze throughout autumn.

The Royal Fern is incredibly easy to grow, as it is tolerant of most soils and light conditions. It will even grow well in poorly drained soils and can be placed in full sun, shade, or semi-shade. They are excellent plants for adding colour and texture to partially sunny or shady borders and rock gardens or filling in gaps between trees and shrubs. They are also perfect for growing beside a pond.

Please Note: Images are for illustrative purposes only and designed to be a representation of the item(s) being sold. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on seasonality, deciduous plants may be supplied in their dormant state and without leaves. Plants may also be pruned back, lower than stated heights, to encourage new growth.
