Papaver 'Bolero'

Papaver 'Bolero', commonly known as an Oriental Poppy, is a striking perennial that adds vibrant colour to garden borders in late spring and early summer. Its large, cerise-pink, saucer-shaped flowers with dark blotches at the base create a dramatic contrast against the silvery-green, finely divided foliage. The tall, bristly stems hold the blooms high, making them a stunning focal point in flower beds. These poppies also provide an excellent source of nectar for pollinators, attracting bees and other beneficial insects to the garden.

Growing to a height of 60-90 cm, Papaver 'Bolero' thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, making it a perfect choice for cottage and wildlife gardens. Its drought tolerance and ability to withstand temperatures as low as -15°C (H6) make it a hardy addition to any low-maintenance landscape. While the blooms are short-lived, the plant's ornamental seed heads and foliage continue to add texture to borders throughout the season
