Redcurrant 'Rondom'
Redcurrant Rondom is a reliable, late-season variety producing an impressive crop of pale red berries from July through August. The fruits have a firm texture and a pleasantly tart flavour that is ideal for making jams, pies, and other desserts.
In spring, small yellow-green flowers emerge, bursting with nectar and irresistible to bees, butterflies, and other garden pollinators. This self-fertile redcurrant plant has a slightly spreading habit but is well-suited to training up wires or growing as a cordon. Redcurrant Rondom is also suitable for container garden and grows well in pots.
While this variety grows in partial shade, it will yield more fruit in a sheltered, sunny spot. It thrives in moist but well-draining soil and is fairly low maintenance. Bear in mind that plants grown in pots need to be watered regularly, but otherwise, only water during particularly dry spells.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
