Rhododendron 'Azurro'

Rhododendrons are renowned for their display of showy flowers, and Rhododendron Azurro is no different. Decorating the shrub from late spring to early summer, Azurro blooms are vivid in colour. The vibrant purple petals feature frilled edges, and the violet hues are perfectly complemented by a dark red blotch on each flower. As the blooms grow in clusters, they produce a striking effect and are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

Rhododendron Azurro is an undemanding shrub that is hardy and easy to grow. It prefers a sheltered spot in partial shade and thrives in slightly acidic, moist but well-draining soil. Clay, loamy, or sandy soil types are perfect. Use ericaceous compost for planting rhododendrons in pots and containers.
