Rosemary Prostratus on Standard Stem

Rosemary 'Prostratus' (Standard) is a unique architectural plant cultivated for its striking form, featuring a weeping ball of aromatic foliage atop a clear upright stem. This resinous, pine-like flavour is released by brushing against the leaves or crushing them for cooking. It is traditionally used as a formal focal point in patio containers or near doorways, and remains a premier seasoning for roasted meats and vegetables, offering both visual elegance and culinary utility.

This plant is grown as a trained topiary tree with a cascading habit that spills beautifully from the head of the stem. While generally robust, the exposed stem and container cultivation make it more susceptible to severe cold than ground-planted rosemary, so it often benefits from fleece protection during harsh winters.
