“Christmas Box” is a wonderful upright and bushy evergreen shrub which blooms during the winter. These highly fragrant white flowers will perfume the air. The flowers are followed by glossy, deep red to black coloured fruits. The flowers are interspersed throughout the plant on the underside of the stalks. Due these wonderful aromas, it is also known as the “Sweet Box” and attracts pollinators like bees and butterflies.
Thick, medium green leaves, approximately 4 cm in length, accompany the plant year-round.
One of the best qualities of this plant is that it produces wonderful scents in partial to full shade. You can really enjoy this plant and yet put it a darker, sheltered part of your garden. And it is hardy to most temperatures in the UK.
