Thyme 'Lady'

Thyme Lady is a low-growing sub shrub with a bushy habit. Its evergreen foliage is dark green and the small, glossy leaves are dotted with creamy-yellow accents. In summer, crimson-red buds bloom into light pink-purple flowers, crowning the plant in colour all summer long.

Ideal for planting in beds, borders, and containers, Thyme Lady is a valuable addition to any herb garden. However, it also works well as a ground cover plant for rockeries and gravel gardens.

Thyme is a versatile culinary herb and has a variety of uses in the kitchen. It is excellent for flavouring stews, soups, savoury preserves, and stuffings. It also complements fish and chicken dishes. Thyme works well in bouquet-garni, and its decongestant properties make it a popular choice of herbal tea.

This garden plant is hardy to harsh winter temperatures and is drought tolerant, so only needs to be watered during prolonged dry spells. A hard pruning after flowering helps maintain the shrub’s size and shape and, when necessary, large clumps should be divided in spring.
