Grape 'Bianca'

Vitis vinifera 'Bianca', commonly known as the Bianca Grape, is a resilient white wine grape variety originating from Hungary. It produces medium to large clusters of small, seeded grapes adorned with a subtle waxy coating. This variety is esteemed for its exceptional winter hardiness and robust resistance to fungal diseases, making it a favored choice among organic growers and those in cooler climates.

Ideal for UK gardens, 'Bianca' thrives in well-drained soils under full sun. When cordon trained, the vines reach a manageable height of approximately 180 cm, with a spread of about 150 cm, making them suitable for trellises and pergolas. Untrained, these vigorous plants can extend up to 8 meters, providing ample coverage and an attractive addition to any garden space.

The grapes of 'Bianca' are typically ready for harvest by mid-October. To ensure optimal fruit quality, it's important to water the vines during dry spells, avoiding overwatering, as excessive moisture can diminish grape quality.
