Buddleia 'Buzz Magenta'

Buddleia 'Buzz Magenta'

Buddleia Davidii Buzz Magenta or call it the ‘Butterfly Bush’, is a dwarf-sized compact deciduous perennial shrub that produces masses of beautiful magenta-red flowers. These large clusters of small flowers release a strong scent, specially in hot afternoons, that attracts butterflies. It’s an overwhelming sight to spot dazzling Buzz Magenta flowers in a garden.

These flowers grow on arching stems of Buzz Magenta carrying narrow grey-green leaves with silver undersides. The panicles of flowers are unusually shaped in the form of a cone, making them excellent border plants in the garden.

Buzz Magenta will bloom in early summer and shine bright in late summer until autumn. If the faded flowerheads are pruned timely, one can experience new blooms in mid-autumn season as well. Buddleja shrubs develop drought tolerance once they mature. They can be grown in full to partial sunlight in a well-drained and dry/moist soil.

These Buzz Magenta plants are suitable for container gardening for smaller gardens. You can also plant them as hedging outdoors. Even though they grow only up to a certain height, pruning them is required to keep the shrub in proper shape and size.

What’s more? Buddleja Buzz Magenta’s flowers are rich in sweet nectar enjoyed by Hummingbirds! This compact perennial will create a display of striking colours in your wildlife garden, cottage garden and act as a perfect hedging.
